At least 13 people were killed on Thursday during a series of airstrikes and shelling incidents in Ukraine and Russia, according to reports from regional officials. In the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, regional governor Ivan Fedorov reported that a guided bomb attack killed three people and injured 15 others. Missile strikes on the port of Odesa resulted in two deaths and six injuries, while drone attacks in the Kharkiv and Kupiansk regions reportedly killed four additional people.
In the Donetsk region, Governor Vadym Filashkin stated that one person died and five were injured during an attack near Kramatorsk. Ukrainian forces also intensified defenses in what officials described as "fortress towns" along the 1,200 km front line.
On the Russian side of the border, local officials in the Belgorod Region reported that one person died following Ukrainian shelling of a settlement. Additionally, Denis Pushilin, the Russian-installed head of the Donetsk region, stated that one person was killed in a territory currently under Russian control. Reporters were unable to independently verify the casualty figures or the specific accounts provided by either government.
