The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-4 on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, to take a 2-0 lead in the National League Championship Series. Catcher William Contreras recorded three hits and three RBIs, including a game-tying solo home run and a go-ahead single, as the Brewers moved within two wins of their first National League pennant.
The victory at American Family Field followed a Game 1 win, placing the two-time defending World Series champion Dodgers in a two-game deficit as the best-of-seven series moves to Los Angeles. The Dodgers are attempting to become the first National League team to win three consecutive World Series titles, while the Brewers are seeking their second World Series appearance and their first since 1982.
Contreras tied the game in the fifth inning with a 436-foot solo home run to center field off Kris Bubic. In the sixth inning, following a hit-by-pitch, a throwing error by pitcher Brock Stewart, and a walk, Contreras singled to left field to drive in David Hamilton for a 5-4 lead. Brice Turang and Jake Bauers added RBI singles in the eighth inning to provide the final three-run margin.
Neither starting pitcher completed five innings. Los Angeles starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed three runs in 2.2 innings. Milwaukee starter Logan Henderson surrendered four runs, two of them earned, over four innings. Following Henderson's exit, four Brewers relievers—Dustin May, JoJo Romero, Abner Uribe, and Aaron Ashby—retired the final 15 Dodgers batters in order.
The Dodgers' offense went 0-for-4 Monday with runners in scoring position to bring their postseason total to 2-for-26 (.077) in those situations. For the Milwaukee Brewers, the relief pitchers have allowed only one earned run across 28.2 innings this postseason.
The series moves to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts noted that Yamamoto "just wasn't sharp" in the Game 2 loss. The Brewers committed two errors in Monday’s game, both by starter Logan Henderson.
The Dodgers previously rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Atlanta Braves in the 2020 NLCS. Further games are scheduled through the week as necessary to determine the National League representative for the World Series.
