The Save America PAC, a political fundraising organization established by Donald Trump in 2020, is carrying more than $1.9 million in debt, according to a Federal Election Commission filing released the week of October 12, 2026. The quarterly report, which covers the period from July 1 to September 30, 2026, shows the PAC has $32,256 in cash.
The organization has served as a source of funding for legal expenses related to criminal prosecutions and civil lawsuits involving Trump since he left office in 2021. These include a New York trial regarding hush money payments, a case involving classified documents, and an election interference case in Georgia. Trump has denied all wrongdoing, describing the court cases as a "witch hunt" and characterizing one prosecution as "political persecution and election interference at the highest level in history."
According to the filing, Save America PAC spent more than $5.4 million during the third quarter, bringing its total annual spending to more than $14 million. The group's cash on hand dropped from approximately $1.2 million at the start of the year to $32,256 by the end of September. The outstanding debts are categorized as legal consulting fees and reimbursements for legal work.
The report identifies several firms with unpaid balances. Sullivan & Cromwell LLP is owed approximately $761,000 for work including the appeal of a defamation judgment involving writer E. Jean Carroll. Brito PLLC is owed about $239,000 for representation in a defamation lawsuit against ABC News, and Dhillon Law Group Inc. is owed roughly $34,000.
The filing shows that more than $1.9 million in legal bills remain unpaid as of September 30, 2026. This debt exists despite the PAC spending over $14 million so far this year. Trump has spent upwards of $100 million on legal expenses since 2021, according to a 2024 report by The New York Times.
The expenses reflect the cost of defending against four criminal cases and multiple civil suits, including one where a jury awarded more than $80 million to E. Jean Carroll. The $761,000 owed to one firm alone is among the debts reported. The PAC reported cash of $32,256 by the end of the third quarter.
The organization must report its year-end financial status and any progress made toward paying down the debt by the next commission deadline.
