Heidi Klum appeared as a giant, severed left hand for her 25th annual Halloween party at Cathédrale in New York City on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026. The costume was modeled after Klum’s own hand, complete with long red nails, an engagement ring, a wedding band, and a thumb ring. The television personality, who began hosting the event in 2000, was accompanied by a group of assistants wearing blood-stained hazmat suits.
Klum said she conceived the idea for the costume last year while observing her own hand and considering how her body might fit inside a replica. The finished product featured details such as dangling ligaments, tendons, and blood, leaving Klum largely unrecognizable with only her eyes and mouth visible. She noted that while the preparation took five to six hours on the day of the event, the construction of the prosthetic took longer.
The costume included personal details such as her palm lines and a tattoo of the name of her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, on the ring finger. Kaulitz did not attend the 2026 event because he was on tour. In previous years, Klum has worn costumes including a worm on a fishing line in 2022, a peacock, a werewolf from Michael Jackson's "Thriller," and versions of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial with Kaulitz in 2024.
The annual event attracted guests such as actors Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and Kyle MacLachlan. Klum used social media to tease the reveal, posting clips starting in mid-September and continuing through the afternoon of the party. No specific budget for the prosthetic work or the event production was reported.
