According to the National Hurricane Center, Genevieve was located several hundred miles off the coast of Mexico, moving west-northwest. Simultaneously, officials monitored Fausto, which had been downgraded from a tropical storm to a tropical depression shortly before reaching the Hawaiian Islands.
