Indian actors Ranbir Kapoor and Yash attended San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday to promote "Ramayana," an upcoming two-part film adaptation of the ancient Hindu epic. Kapoor, who portrays Prince Rama, stated that the production aims to introduce the narrative to a global audience. Yash, who plays the antagonist Ravana, noted that the convention's audience is well-suited for high-budget fantasy storytelling.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the production has a reported budget of approximately $500 million. The story follows Prince Rama’s 14-year exile and his eventual confrontation with the king of Lanka, Ravana, following the abduction of his wife, Sita. The cast also includes Sai Pallavi as Sita and Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana.
The film serves as a central project for Prime Focus Studios, which is conducting an international marketing campaign across the United States and Britain. The first installment is scheduled for release in India on November 8, coinciding with the Diwali holiday, with the second part expected in 2027.
