Nauseda delivered the remarks following a meeting with national security officials, citing a heightened threat level to energy and transport networks in the region.
The President called for increased vigilance and cooperation among NATO allies to secure regional infrastructure. He noted that the suspected plans involve kinetic or cyber actions intended to disrupt essential services. The Baltic nations of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, along with Poland, have previously reported increases in GPS jamming and cyber intrusions attributed to Russian sources.
Russian officials have not issued a formal response to Nauseda's specific allegations. The warning follows a series of recent incidents involving damage to undersea cables and pipelines in the Baltic Sea, which remain under investigation by regional authorities. NATO has increased its maritime and aerial surveillance in the area in response to these ongoing security concerns.
