Police were dispatched to a residence on Perry Street around 5 p.m. on a Friday after witnesses reported seeing a man firing a weapon before entering a home. Upon arrival, two women were found deceased in the street, while additional victims were located inside the house.
Investigators stated the suspect was found dead at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah said the department would not speculate on a motive to avoid compromising the investigation. In a separate report from York County, Pennsylvania, at least three police officers were killed and two others wounded in a shooting.
