A youth soccer league director in Winter Park, Florida, contacted law enforcement to request that a 3-year-old player and his family leave the field. The incident, involving a child named Nevada who was playing in an i9 Sports program, was captured on video and has since circulated online.
The league director, Thomas Hayes, told police that Nevada is advanced compared to his peers but stated the call was made due to disruptive behavior by the boy's parents. According to Hayes, the parents became argumentative with others after he instructed referees to prevent Nevada from pushing other children while scoring goals. Hayes also cited a previous dispute that occurred a few weeks earlier when he substituted players during a game.
Nevada’s mother disputed these claims in body camera footage, stating the family stood away from other parents to avoid conflict. She alleged the league was removing her son because of his skill level. In a family-recorded video, the child’s father is heard saying police were called because the 3-year-old was "too good." The mother reported that a coach told Nevada he could continue playing if he passed the ball, but law enforcement arrived roughly halfway through the game.
i9 Sports stated on October 26, 2026, that it is working to understand the circumstances of the event. The case has also drawn attention from YouTube personality Rachel Accurso, who expressed interest in having the child on her program. The league has not yet announced a final decision on the family's status or any changes to its refereeing and substitution guidelines.
