The comments follow an NBC News report published over the weekend claiming that Hegseth was considering a presidential bid for 2028. Hegseth denied the report in a post on X, labeling the claim "100% false" and stating that his only job is to make the Department of Defense, which he referred to as the "Department of War," "Great Again."
Trump noted that several individuals are likely considering future campaigns but emphasized that Hegseth's current focus is on the military. The president also acknowledged similar speculation regarding other allies, including Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Additionally, Trump recently commented on Sen.
