Tallahassee police reported that at least 12 people were injured, including six children, during a shooting on Saturday night in Tallahassee. The incident occurred in a crowded area near a football stadium during Florida A&M University’s (FAMU) homecoming weekend. According to authorities, three of the victims sustained serious injuries, while nine others were reported to be in stable condition.
Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell stated that the preliminary investigation suggests a fight broke out prior to the gunfire. The shooting followed a football game in a crowded area. FAMU released a statement on social media confirming that while the event happened near the university, the campus itself remained safe.
Police Chief Revell told reporters that no arrests had been made. "Tonight, our thoughts are with the victims and their families as they face the devastating impact of this violence," Revell said, adding that the injury of children was "especially heartbreaking." Additional details regarding the ages of the children or the identity of the shooter were not immediately reported.

While the specific number of attendees in the immediate vicinity was not reported, police characterized the location as a "crowded area."
Twelve people were transported to medical facilities. Three individuals with serious injuries face ongoing medical treatment, while nine in stable condition remain under observation.
