Federal agents arrested two residents of a downtown Los Angeles apartment on Thursday, September 10, after a search of the residence uncovered narcotics, firearms, and a live alligator. Marvin Angelito, 27, and Susan Gonzalez, 26, were taken into custody following the raid at the Olympic + Hill building, which federal prosecutors described as a known drug trafficking location.
The investigation began after a confidential source arranged to pay $125,000 for 500,000 fentanyl pills from a suspected drug trafficker, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit reported by the Los Angeles Times. This information led authorities to the apartment shared by Angelito and Gonzalez.
During the search, agents seized approximately 42.6 kilograms of fentanyl in both pill and powder form, one kilogram of heroin, and 7.2 kilograms of cocaine. Prosecutors stated that agents also recovered a gold-plated Desert Eagle .50-caliber pistol with ammunition from a kitchen counter, an AR-15 rifle from a hallway closet, a police radio, and a hydraulic press. Lab equipment including beakers, mixers, and torches was also found. A small alligator kept in a glass tank was seized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Angelito and Gonzalez have been charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. At an initial court appearance on Monday, September 14, U.S. Magistrate Judge Karen L. Stevenson ordered Angelito to be detained. Gonzalez was granted release on a $15,000 bond. No pleas were entered during the proceedings.
If convicted, both Angelito and Gonzalez face a maximum sentence of life in federal prison. Arraignments for the two defendants are scheduled for early October. Marvin Angelito is scheduled for arraignment on October 2, 2026. Susan Gonzalez is scheduled for arraignment on October 9, 2026.
