H.R. 115
HouseAffirming the role of the United States in NATO
Sponsor: Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY)
The House of Representatives has passed this bill. It now moves to the Senate.
In brief
This bill requires the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to identify public housing tenants who fail to meet federal community service and economic self-sufficiency requirements. HUD must calculate the total annual federal subsidy spent on units occupied by these noncompliant tenants and publish that figure in the Federal Register. For each subsequent fiscal year, an amount of money equal to that total must be rescinded from HUD’s Management and Administration budget. Introduced by Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ), the legislation is currently awaiting consideration by House committees.
