In brief
This bill repeals four federal tax credits used by individuals and businesses to purchase electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles and install charging equipment. Specifically, it eliminates the $7,500 credit for new clean vehicles, the $4,000 credit for used clean vehicles, the $40,000 business credit for commercial clean vehicles, and the tax credits for installing electric vehicle refueling stations. These repeals remove incentives that were previously scheduled to remain available through 2032. Introduced by Representative Jodey Arrington of Texas, the bill is currently referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means.
