An Atlanta mother is continuing a 48-year search for her son, Raymond Green, who was abducted from their home in November 1978 when he was five days old. Donna Green scheduled her annual awareness event, "A Night of Courage: Resilience of Hope," for Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church in Atlanta. The event aims to bring attention to her son's disappearance and other unsolved missing person cases.
The abduction occurred after Donna Green met a woman identifying herself as "Lisa Morris" at Grady Memorial Hospital following Raymond's birth on Nov. 1, 1978. According to Green, the woman visited her in her hospital room and later visited her home five days after the birth. Green reported that while she was taking a shower, the woman picked up the infant and left the house. Her brother, who was present, stated the woman walked out the front door with the child after he began crying.
The suspect was last seen entering a brown vehicle. Because no photographs of the infant existed at the time of his disappearance, investigators have relied on sketches based on Green’s memory. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) has produced age-progressed images of Raymond using photos of his siblings and relatives to estimate his current appearance. The suspect is described as approximately 5-foot-6 with a medium build and a possible mole on her left cheek.
The search for Raymond Green affects his family, including his mother and siblings. It also involves the Atlanta Police Department and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. In 2023, NCMEC partnered with GSTV to display Raymond’s information on television screens at gas station pumps across the United States.
NCMEC officials stated they have handled cases where abducted infants were located as adults living under different names. To address this possibility, Donna Green submitted her DNA to commercial ancestry websites, as reported by NCMEC in 2024, hoping to find a familial match. Law enforcement continues to request that anyone with information contact the Atlanta Police Department or NCMEC.
